Our 2, 4, 6, 8, 9,10, 12, 14, and 16 yard skips are all delivered by a full size 4 wheel 18 tonne skip truck. They are by design very manoeuvrable and the drivers are very competent. However they still have their restrictions and we ask that you please make sure that you have sufficient access to your property. The skip truck will need no less than 9ft in width and no less than 11ft in height to enable us to drop the skip safely. For our Roll-on Roll-off trucks please call us directly. A member of our team will welcome the chance to discuss your requirements with you as this type of truck requires a lot more space.
Skips can only be placed on the highway with a permit, correct signage and lights. If you cannot find a suitable privately owned off-road location, Nelson will arrange a skip permit for you, along with lighting on the skip to comply with regulations. Alternatively if you have limited space we offer a skip hire ‘wait and load’ service, enabling you to dispose of your waste on the same day or next day response time, without any delay or hassle.
Skips can be put on most domestic driveways with no problems. However certain types of driveways, for example block paved or tarmac drives can occasionally be marked either by the skip itself or the jack legs on the truck which are needed to steady the vehicle on collection of your skip. This can normally be avoided by positioning either scaffold planks or a sheet of substantial wood where the skip is to be dropped. The driver will always put blocks of wood under his jack legs to try to minimise any marking but occasionally it still can occur. We unfortunately cannot accept any responsibility for this once off the public highway but we will do all within our power to avoid it.
Our delivery times are Monday to Friday 07:00 to 16:30 and Saturdays 07:00 to 12:00. We have two times available for delivery and collection, including AM Job or PM Job. Please let us know if you require a dedicated time frame. We can usually offer a same day skip service but ideally we suggest you give us 24 hours notice to ensure your requirements can be met.
Skip hire is for 2 weeks only, with additional weeks available. If you are interested in an ongoing permanent contract then special longer term arrangements can be agreed. Please call us directly and a member of our team will welcome the chance to help you.
Payment including VAT is payable in advance online (we now accept Paypal) or via the telephone. Unfortunately, we do not accept cash payment on delivery.
